Luthier’s Approach

Lutherie is an art and a science. It requires knowledge, passion, patience, and understanding. Attention to the specific needs of each client is essential in my field. This is essential because every part of the guitar matters. From the wood chosen to the finish applied, each step along the way is important. The preparation of each piece has an impact on the tone, feel, responsiveness, and beauty of the finished guitar. No two musicians are the same, so the quest for the perfect guitar is different in every case.

My job is to create the perfect guitar for you, the musical tool that best allows you to convey your feelings, emotions, and visions with the world. This tool needs to be expressive, responsive, beautiful, and most importantly, it needs to work as an extension of yourself. In the beginning design steps for each instrument, I consider it crucial to gain an understanding of your style and what you’re looking for in a guitar. With this understanding, I can customize the neck to your hands, the soundbox to your body, the design to what you see as beautiful, and the instrument’s responsiveness to your performance.

With a background in Architecture/Engineering/Music, and a passion for guitars, I look forward to using my knowledge in the art and science of Lutherie to create your perfect guitar.
